Hey!

Glad you decided to stop in and find out when and where the Columbus Gathering is going to be happening. I hope that you will come by and meet some other Echoesians and Roger Waters fans.

I will be coming from Lexington, Kentucky and know little about Columbus - so I have created the following plans based on information that has been sent to me. I am open to suggestions for revisions, so just let me know what you think.

2:00 PM	Check in at the Days Inn at 3160 Olentangy River Road, close to Schottenstein Center (I got a 2-person room for $50, 4-person was $62). I was told that the Days Inn at 1559 West Broad is in a VERY BAD part of town and I should not stay there. I called Days Inn (1-800-325-2525) and they changed my reservation to the Days Inn on Olentangy River Rd. You may want to change your reservations too. Check the list of hotels for the Columbus date on the Meet Me In The Flesh webpage for other hotels close to the Schottenstein Center.
3:00 PM	Head over to the Schottenstein Center to scope out the area for parking and get a feel for the place. I'm going to try to get up close and listen for the soundcheck. However, I've been told that soundcheck may start between 5:00 and 5:30 and may be over by 6:00 or 6:30. Lastly, Roger has been signing autographs, so it may be possible to catch him before the show???
4:45 PM	Meet at a Mexican restaurant called EL VAQUERO (phone: 614-261-0900 address: 3230 Olentangy River Road - between Ackerman and N. Broadway - See Map Below). Although this is a Mexican restaurant, there are several other restaurants very close by (or so I'm told). We can meet at El Vaquero, and have a drink then move on for dinner if people prefer some other location. When you arrive, ask for the "WATER'S PARTY."
5:10 PM	Put our collective minds together and decide on a place for dinner. Personally, I love Mexican food, so my vote will be to stay at El Vaquero. Depending on the size of the group, it may be good idea to get a reservation. So, please, let me know if you are interested in doing this. If no-one expresses interest, I'm going assume no-one is coming and fend for myself. 6:40 PM	Head back to the Schottenstein Center and prepare for the show. Traffic and or parking may be bad, so I want to allow time for that. As you may know by now, Roger has been starting the show promptly at 8:00 PM. I want to be in the Auditorium and in my seat by 7:45-7:50 PM. I've got a little setting up to do myself before the show starts ;-)
8:00 PM	Feel the warmth of inner confusion and spacecadet glow.
10:30 PM	Head out of the Schottenstein Center and around to the backstage doors. Again, Roger has been kind enough to stop for autographs for fans after the show. Reported wait times for his departure from the venue has been an hour to an hour and a half, so it may be around 12:00-12:30 before autograph time. Hopefully, we can do a little tailgating while we are waiting. REMEMBER - put your drinks in plastic cups; no need encouraging security or police to hassle us.
12:30 AM	Walk over to The Varsity Club (phone: 614-299-6269 address: 278 W. Lane Avenue - walking distance from venue - See Map Below) for drinks and discussion.

I grabbed a map of the downtown area and some of the attractions. I have coloured the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in RED (don't go here) and GREEN is the colour the Jerome Schottenstein Center at Ohio University.
